Principals Message

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year

Welcome to a new school year! I look forward to our partnership in your child’s education.  As your partner, we will provide outstanding teachers, a caring and supportive staff and a fun environment for your children.  As staff, we are committed to working together to inspire the value and love of learning in your child.  Some of the best ways to support this partnership at home are through making sure your child arrives each day on time and ready to learn, helping with homework, and talking about ideas and topics being studied at school.  I also strongly encourage you to read with and to your children, regardless of their age. This activity is one of the best ways to foster the love of reading while building their skills.

Green is your school.  I want you to feel that you are an integral part of this learning community.  Everyone who is a member of this community: teachers, parents and other family members, administrators, custodians and other staff members, and of course the students, are actively engaged in learning and growing.  We encourage learning from each other while solving meaningful problems, whether they’re in math or social relations.  We know that learning together and from one another are the most powerful ways to learn, while building relationships and community.

Get involved!  The more you do, the more you and your children will benefit from school. I strongly encourage you to join our Parents United Group (otherwise known as a Booster Club), to volunteer in the classroom or at recess, or to chaperone field trips.
