As of May 1st, there will be no more charging of lunches for the rest of the school year.  This helps us to make sure no negative balances are left over the summer.  You can help us out by paying in advance for any meals your child will eat.  If you have a positive balance left at the end of the year, it will be rolled over into next year’s account even if your child switches schools (within district).

There are 25 serving days left in May and June for this year.  See the following chart to calculate the total amount your child will require until the end of the school year.

Gear Up and Personal Management

"An important aspect of GEAR UP is the category of PERONAL MANAGEMENT.  Personal Management is the first of six Career-Related Learning Standards that we are integrating into all subject areas and areas of a student’s life and learning.  Keeping track of what needs to be done and when it needs to be completed is important.  Keeping that completed work in a place where you will be able to access it is just as important.  Keeping yourself organized is a habit everyone will need in school and beyond.  This is an important piece of PERSONAL MANAGEMENT.

The folders everyone is receiving today are given to help you with your organization.  Remember, everyone has a dream, and every dream needs a plan.

  • Use your planner or assignment sheet routinely.
  • Organize your time.
  • Complete homework and project on time.
  • Turn in your homework.
  • Make positive decisions and accept responsibility for your actions."

ESCRIPT

Jo Lane PSA supports JoLane student activities with escript dollars. This is free money for Jo Lane everytime you use your Safeway card.  Each November you must renew your escript.  If you have not done so since November 2011, please go to

http://www.escrip.com

Thanks for your continued support.

School Traffic Safety

Dear parents,

Student drop off continues to be a safety concern.  When dropping off your student, please wait till you get to the yellow crosswalk before your student is allowed to get out of the car. There are real safety concerns when students are getting out before they get to the crosswalk and walk/run between cars.  With the rain and darker mornings visibility is poor.

If you could please remember to use the front parking lot for dropping off your students in the morning, it would be most appreciated.  The south side of our campus, up by the gymnasiums is reserved for our bus drop off in the morning and ask that we stay away from that with our personal vehicles.

In the mornings would you please give our busses and drivers the right of way whenever possible.   They are really on tight schedules in continuing their bus routes as once they have delivered students to Jo Lane in the morning, their day isn't finished; they have more student transporting to do.  Your cooperation is so appreciated for the safety of our children.
