All students are welcome to participate

Each year, members of the Roseburg NHS chapter participate in many club-sponsored and community service projects throughout the school year. Youth Mentor programs, tutoring, Walk-a-thons, and many more projects enrich the lives of students and others in our community. The following projects have traditionally been a large part of NHS service. Other interested students are welcome to participate.

Pennies For Patients
Honor Society conducts a "Pennies for Patients" project to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Students may make donations by placing coins/dollar bills into the designated collection containers.

NHS members provide dozens of hours of peer tutoring each school year. Students who are in need of tutors contact Mrs. Thompson in the library, and she connects those student with NHS members who can tutor.

Elementary school carnivals and bookfairs

NHS members help at all of the local elementary school carnivals each year, running game booths and other activities. In addition, the elementary librarians always need a little extra help with their books fairs, and NHS members are happy to provide.

Helping at track meets
Various tasks need to be done when we host track meets at RHS, i.e. assisting with high jumps. time keeping, etc. See Mrs. Thompson or Mr. Cuilty, head track coach.

Red Cross Blood Drive
Each year in April, NHS works with the American Red Cross to host the largest blood drive in our area.
