Course Overview: This advanced placement choir demands a vocalist with a strong commitment to the team, who has a good work ethic, and is available for out of class rehearsals and performances. Music, mostly a cappella, from various time periods, cultures, and styles will be studied and performed at choir festivals, other schools, RHS concerts, and on a four or five day tour during even numbered years. Choral techniques involving sight-seeing, tone production, advanced parts, singing, and showmanship are taught and practiced. Focus on differences in styles and cultural music is a big part of this choir. This is a great place to gain experience for the student interested in singing in college ensembles.
