Course Overview: This is an advanced course in machine tool processes. Students will study advanced concepts in metallurgy; material science, milling, drilling, turning, grinding, computer numerical control, inspection techniques, tool geometry, and computer aided machining. Lab work emphasizes advanced concepts using the engine lathe, milling machine, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mill, and the Master-CAM program. The course emphasizes the necessary skills of manufacturing technology and shop safety following OSHA, EPA, and DEQ recommendations. Students must wear safety glasses at all times while in the shop.
