Course Overview: Honors Biology is a rigorous course designed for students who have a high interest in the life sciences. It will introduce students to the concepts and skills associated with the life sciences. The course emphasizes in-depth laboratory experiences and enrichment to reinforce the classroom instruction and uses inquiry to develop critical-thinking skills while making real-world connections. Major topics include cell structure/function, genetics and heredity, evolution, diversity, and ecology. This is the Biology course students should take who plan on taking AP Biology and/or pursuing a science degree in college.
