Guided Work Experience

Grade Level: 12

Length of Course: Semester

Credit: ½ Elective

Course Overview: Guided Work Experience is a class developed for students as the next step in their Career Exploration transition plan. Students will participate in a job shadow/training situation where they will learn actual employment expectations and receive feedback from employers and instructor on their performance, areas of improvement, and areas of strength. This class provides students with an opportunity to learn skills that would otherwise be unavailable at this stage of their high school career. If a student is chosen for this class, it is due to their concerns, their caregiver’s and/or case manager’s concerns about their transition into post secondary life.
