Music Advocacy

 

Data compiled by the College Entrance and Examination Board indicates that students with the course work in the arts, score consistently higher than the general populations taking the SAT. Additionally, the more art courses, the Carnegie Task Force on Education of Young Adolescents has stated, "The fine arts are part of a basic core curriculum through which all students should be expected to succeed as learners in critical thinking, expressing themselves clearly, and synthesizing subject matter across the disciplines studied."

Roseburg is fortunate to have strong programs music and visual arts. Hopefully these programs will remain strong and possibly expand in the future.
