Modified School Calendar

In response to the recent school closure due to severe weather conditions, the school board voted to modify the 2018-2019 school calendar. School will be in session on April 11th and 12th. These days had previously been scheduled as elementary and middle school conference days. Furthermore, the 2018-2019 school year will be extended one day; the last day for school will be Thursday, June 14th. Thank you for your patience.

Eastwood families -

please take a minute to complete the following survey to help us out.

Here at Eastwood, we are developing a list of our core values—moral ideas that we think are important to live by—the foundation that helps us tell right and wrong. This list of values will help us (staff, students, and families) when we are interacting with each other and when we are making decisions that affect others.

Staff and students have already completed exercises to identify the values that we think are most important. Now we need your input.

A Reminder about Parking Lot Etiquette and Safety

The parking lot can get congested in the afternoons as we get in a hurry to pick up our students and proceed to our next activity.  Let’s make it as smooth and safe as possible for the students, staff, and other drivers by observing the following protocol:

  • · Please follow the one-way arrows in the pick-up lane.
  • · Do not park in the pick-up lane while waiting for your student to be
    released from class;
it blocks disability accessible spaces and
delays the entire line; please make another loop around the parking lot.
  • · Please do your best not to block drivers pulling out of parking spaces.
  • · Do not use the bus lane in front of the school at the beginning or end of the school day to drop off or pick up your student(s).  If you use the bus lane and the buses pull in, you will need to stay parked until all the buses are done loading/unloading and they leave the parking lot.

Please remember that being courteous and respectful of others in the parking lot
leads to a quicker pick up, and most importantly, keeps our students safe.
Drive slowly and keep a watchful eye out for our children.

Picking up students early
Eastwood has an all-school recess.

If you must pick your student up early for an
appointment, please come before 2:30 or after 2:45
as we cannot retrieve individual students during
the all school recess.

Eastwood Elementary 2018-2019

Dear Eastwood Parents,
All school supplies for Eastwood Elementary
students have been purchased and will be in the
classrooms on the first day of school. We ask that
each student contribute $15.00 to cover costs. We
believe you will find that to be a very affordable
option for the purchase of school supplies. The
only item your child needs to bring is a backpack
with their name on it.
