Eastwood Elementary School opened its doors in September, 1957 on forty-four acres of farm land that in the late 1800s was the site of the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The school is located in the city of Roseburg, the seat of Douglas County. There are approximately 450 students from kindergarten through fifth grade in 19 classes. Classes for music, special programs, counseling, and library/media provide additional support for Eastwood students. The site has wetlands, nature trails, a salmon hatchery, outdoor classrooms, and a replica Native American dwelling. Eastwood's traditions in excellence are well known throughout the community.
