Oregon Battle of Books Program - Grades 3-5

This program is designed so that students in our area will be exposed to a wide variety of books. Teams of 4 students share reading this list of titles. Students will be asked questions about the books and they will answer with the title and author. In late January we will have a school level competition to determine who will represent our school in the area wide competition in March at Roseburg High School.

Our main goal is to involve many students and have fun with this program! Books are available at Eastwood Library, the Douglas County Library.

School level competition - January - February -
The winning school team competes at the:
Regional battle -  March @ Roseburg High School

The winning Regional team competes at the:
State Competition - The top teams from each regional battle in Oregon will compete in Salem in April

Tree Icon2018-19 OBOB Titles

The Gr. 3-5 titles are selected with the reading level and maturity of fourth and fifth graders in mind. You may feel that the content and/or theme of one or two of these titles are inappropriate for your child. The OBOB committee recommends that you read and discuss these books with your child. A book that stretches a child’s thinking is a great opportunity to discuss world events and your family’s values.
