Created in 1999 for the rural area of Melrose, the Melrose Reading Station is an early childhood literacy program now free to all adult-accompanied Douglas County children ages birth to five. We offer a vast childrens' lending library, parent resource library, educational games/toys, and daily activities.

In addition to books, children/parents may also check-out many of our intellectual materials. We hand-out free books upon a child's first visit and other times during the year. We host monthly Story Times and special events.

The Reading Station is solely funded through grants, donations, and fund-raisers and does not receive any tax dollars or financial support from the district.

HOURS:
Currently, the Station is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 9:00-Noon.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will help in any way that I can.
