Melrose Reading Station

School Building with Books

Created in 1999 for the rural area of Melrose, the Melrose Reading Station is an early childhood literacy program now free to all adult-accompanied Douglas County children ages birth to five. We offer a vast children's lending library, parent resource library, educational games/toys, and daily activities.

In addition to books, children/parents may also check-out many of our intellectual materials. We hand-out free books upon a child's first visit and other times during the year. We host monthly Story Times and special events.

The Reading Station is solely funded through grants, donations, and fund-raisers and does not receive any tax dollars or financial support from the district.

HOURS:
Currently, the Station is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 9:00-Noon.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will help in any way that I can.
