Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12

Length of Course: Semester

Pre-requisite: Solo Lab A

Credit: 1/2 Elective

Fee: None - Students need to provide their own guitar, acoustic or electric. If electric, must also have an amp and headphones.

Course Overview: This class is intended for the person with little or no previous experience. Instruction will include finding chords, strumming, finger picking, barre chords, moving bass, and rhythmic patterns. Students will have the opportunity to branch out into reading tab, notes, chords symbols, and basic theory. Students will have weekly playing assignments and also a day where they will be playing something in a circle for the class. There will be opportunity made for a semester program for the public. This is a one semester class. Students will be allowed to take it a second semester only as space is available after the first semester students have signed up. Size of class, due to individual attention needed, will be limited to 20.
