Pre-requisite: Teacher Approval

Credit: 1/2 Elective

Course Overview: This course is intended for a beginning to advanced voice student. Vocal training will include breathing, vowels, consonants, expression, stage presence, and working with an accompanist. Students will receive a voice lesson per week and will be asked to share their progress with the entire class as they are developing their art. The first semester will focus on classical training and will include selections form other languages and time periods. There will be a recital and students will have a chance to prepare for a league solo contest which will happen about a month after the semester is over (end of February). Class size will be limited to twenty due to the individual lesson time each week.
