Course Overview: This course is designed to introduce the student who is planning on post-secondary education in a technical or paraprofessional field to the informative, persuasive, and ethical dimensions of work place writing. Students will learn how to focus on purpose and connect with audience while planning, drafting, and revising a variety of products such as memos, summaries, reports, and proposals. Readings include selections from American and world literature and are intended to stimulate analytical and philosophical thought and discussion relevant to today’s professional technical workplace. Students will be given the opportunity to complete writing and literature samples in preparation for college/university entrance requirements.
