Yearbook News- The deadline for senior ads and yearbook purchases has been extended to Thursday, January 26th.  Reserve a book for yourself, the cost is $60.  Seniors- Senior ads are due Thursday, January 26.  Don't miss out getting your ad in the yearbook.

She had ice water injected into her inner ear to mimic vertigo; she was given radioactive water through a feeding tube; she was held in an isolation chamber until she set a new record. Jerrie Cobb was one of the first women to go through astronaut testing, and she out performed most men. But she was never allowed to go to space because…she was a woman. Read the true story of thirteen women pilots who dreamed of becoming astronauts in the 1960s in Almost Astronauts: 13 Women Who Dared to Dream. Check it out in the library.

Leadership is excited to announce that there will be a winter dance this year.  The Orange and Black dance will be held on February 10th after the boys’ basketball game.  The doors to the student center will open at 9:00.  There will be a DJ and the dance will end at 11:00.  Tickets will go on sale beginning February 6th for $10 during both lunches.  Tickets will be sold during both lunches all week.  Since the dance is after the basketball game, it is casual wear.  Bring your best Orange and Black attire to the game and come dance the night away after!!

The annual Arts assembly will be on March 3rd.  Auditions for the assembly will be held in the Rose Theatre on February 8th from 1:50 to 2:50. If you would like to audition for the assembly, please drop by the Leadership room and sign up no later than February 6th.

Our Mr. RHS Men of Disney event will be held on April 7th at 6:00.  Senior boys, if you are interested in being a part of this charity event, applications will be available outside the leadership room (A-145) beginning Monday, January 30th.  Applications will be due back to the turn in box outside the leadership room by Monday, February 6th.

Are you great at drawing comics?  Do you feel as if you don’t get enough credit for your talent?  Everyone loves the funnies!  The RHS Orange R (school newspaper) is looking to include comics drawn by student artists in the paper!  For a chance to have your art featured in the next edition, submit your comics to Miss Smith in H104. Submissions can be any size and can be in full color or black and white.  Please keep the submissions school appropriate and friendly!
