BCFB - Employee Bargaining Committee
The Board creates an Employee Bargaining Committee to assist the Board in negotiation of labor contracts with employees represented by unions. It shall consist of no more than three members of the Board, appointed by the Board Chair. The committee members may be assisted by members of the administration appointed by the Superintendent. Employee Bargaining Committee members are to bargain in good faith, but do not have the power to bind the Board as a whole. The committee shall report to the Board on the process of negotiations, and shall receive direction from the Board as to the aims and parameters of bargaining that the Board considers appropriate. When appropriate, such reports and direction to the Board as a whole shall be done in executive session.
