EEA - School Bus Accident Reporting

Accurate and prompt accident reporting is essential when any accident involving a school bus occurs to help prevent similar accidents from happening again.  If there are injuries or damage, prompt reports also are vital in assuring district, staff, students and others of proper insurance coverage.

Therefore, the Board requires that an accident report be filed for every accident that involves a school bus on a public right-of-way.  Such accident reports are required whether or not there is an injury or damage immediately evident.

The superintendent, in cooperation with the transportation contractor, will develop administrative regulations as necessary for the implementation of this policy.
