AAOT - Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer

The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree is designed for students who intend on transferring to an Oregon Public University. The AAOT degree meets all of the lower division (freshman and sophomore) general education requirements at all of the Oregon Public Universities.

ASOT - Associate of Science Oregon Transfer

The Associate of Science Transfer (ASOT) degree follows Oregon State Major Transfer Maps (MTMs), which represent a streamlined path for students transferring from an Oregon community college to an Oregon university, who know which major/bachelor’s degree program they want to pursue.

MTM - Major Transfer Map

Major Transfer Maps (MTMs) represent a streamlined path for students transferring from an Oregon community college to an Oregon university who know which major/bachelor’s degree program they want to pursue. MTMs specify clear course-taking paths necessary for on-track progress towards a specific major/bachelor’s degree, with a guarantee of transfer from any Oregon community college to any Oregon public university. MTMs build on the 30- credit general education foundation defined by the generic Core Transfer Map (CTM), although MTMs may specify particular relevant/required General Education courses as part of the 30-credit CTM component of the MTM.

AS - Associate of Science

The Associate of Science (AS) degree is specific to receiving institutions and meets the receiving institution requirements as described by articulation agreements. This degree provides students with the foundation necessary to transfer to a four-year college or university within their chosen major..

Gen Ed Core - General Education Core

The General Education Core Certificate is designed to develop and support students’ general knowledge, literacy, skills, and competencies, equipping them with the foundation for lifelong learning and advanced academic curricula. UCC's Gen Ed Core Certificate is at least a 15 credit, stackable credential, designed to build momentum and support persistence through higher education and beyond.

CTM - Core Transfer Map

The Core Transfer Maps (CTM) are broad descriptions of course requirements for students at any Oregon community college or public university. It is designed to partially meet at least 30 credits of the General Education requirements for a bachelor’s degree at any Oregon Public Universities.

OTM - Oregon Transfer Module

The Oregon Transfer Module (OTM) is a subset of courses which all “count” as a transferable block. It is designed to partially meet the General Education assignment of the Oregon Public Universities, totaling a minimum of 45 credits.

CTE - Career and Technical Education

AAS - Associate of Applied Science

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree prepares students for entry into the workforce in specific areas. These degrees are typically non-transferable and terminal in nature.

Certificates

Certificates in a technical area of study are designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed to enter a career field and may be a pathway to a degree.

CTE Core - Career and Technical Education Core Certificate

The CTE Core Certificate is designed to demonstrate that CTE students have met and achieved the general education learning outcomes of Umpqua Community College, and to signify that they are prepared to move forward as a CTE student in their choice of programs.

Career Pathway Certificate

Career Pathways are certificates of completion, between 12-44 credits, and are designed to prepare students for employment and advancement in targeted occupations. Some may be stackable towards a larger certificate or AAS degree.
