Getting flexible with Roseburg Virtual School

Welcome to Roseburg Virtual Options, our comprehensive K-12 online learning experience open to all students in our district. Here, you’ll find options for learning that provide flexibility for students who thrive in a self-paced educational environment that maintains local connections and opportunities for engagement.

Roseburg Virtual School (elementary students)

Elementary school students are invited to enroll in Roseburg Virtual School, which allows younger students to learn at their own pace from home with the assistance of licensed, highly qualified Roseburg Public Schools teachers. Students will experience daily connections with their teacher and can visit school in-person if they need a one-on-one session, small group support or technical assistance. Our virtual school also focuses on building social-emotional connections, and students will have the option to participate in school field trips, virtual classes like PE and music, and other activities. As with online charter schools, parents play an integral role in their student’s education, serving as learning coaches to keep children engaged in learning. Roseburg Virtual School for elementary-age children will be housed at Rose School in downtown Roseburg for the 2022-23 school year.

Roseburg Virtual School (middle school students)

Roseburg Virtual School will expand to include grades 6-8 for the 2022-23 school year. Middle school-age children will receive the same quality virtual experience as our elementary-age students and will be taught by licensed district teachers. This option will be available for families to select during the enrollment process.

Roseburg High School virtual option

Students enrolled at Roseburg High School may apply to learn online from home for the 2022-2023 school year. Roseburg Public Schools teachers will serve as support mentors for students, who will also be working with teachers from our digital curriculum program, Apex. Our online option will allow students to craft a personalized journey through online school that allows them to work independently. Students will have the option to participate in sports programs through the high school, as well as clubs and extracurricular activities. When students graduate, they will earn an official Roseburg High School diploma.

Roseburg Public Schools’ online options offer an ideal path for students who prefer nontraditional learning environments and for those who want to work at an accelerated pace. We are proud to offer these options for our students and look forward to watching each student succeed. For more information, please contact RHS Assistant Principal Brad Bogardus at (541) 440-4142 or BBogardus@roseburg.k12.or.us.
