2021-22 COVID-19 Information
Health and Safety
Roseburg Public Schools is following guidance in the Oregon Department of Education's Ready Schools, Safe Leaners 2021-22 Resiliency Framework focused on ensuring students can attend school in person and full time.
Face mask requirements:
The Oregon Governor has mandated the use of face masks indoors for students, staff and visitors during educational activities.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has mandated the use of face masks on all public transportation, including school buses.
Roseburg Public Schools continues to work with Douglas Public Health Network, our school nurses and our district Operations Team to maintain safe learning environments in our district. In an effort to provide transparency regarding our health and safety measures, we plan to provide weekly totals of positive COVID-19 cases identified in our district. In tracking cases identified in our district, we continue to find that students and staff are contracting the illness outside of school. Douglas Public Health Network has reported no evidence of COVID-19 spread within our schools.
With recent revisions to required quarantine and isolation protocols, students who have contact with individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 will not need to quarantine as long as schools can confirm consistent use of face coverings and social distancing.
