Special Education

What We Do

Roseburg Public Schools provides comprehensive Special Education Services as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004. Services provided include but are not limited to:

  • Child Find Services
  • Special Education Eligibility Determination
  • Individual Education Plan (IEP) Development and Implementation

The district maintains a continuum of special education placement options for students ranging from regular classroom to self-contained classroom. Each Special Education classroom has a Special Education teacher and access to Special Education instructional assistants. Support services for eligible students are also provided by autism consultants, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavioral specialists, Teachers on Special Education Assignment, school psychologists and other district Student Services personnel.
