Application process and requirements

Thank you for offering your time and expertise to our schools! Before volunteering for a school function on-site or on a field trip, you must first be cleared to volunteer. For your volunteer experience to be successful, begin your application process at least two weeks before the date you intend to volunteer, and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Complete the Raptor Volunteer Application.

  • Contact the Office Manager of the school you’d like to volunteer for to complete in person.

Step 2: Read through the Volunteer Handbook and the Reporting Abuse Brochure.

Step 3: Complete the mandatory SafeSchools Training

Who is a volunteer?

Volunteers are usually parents, guardians, or community members authorized to work with students, assist with school tasks, or chaperone field trips. Temporary visitors (e.g., lunch guests or speakers) aren’t considered volunteers but must follow all safety and security protocols.

Safety Protocols

  • Volunteers must abide by the same safety protocols followed by our staff members
  • Volunteers are subject to a background check.
  • Volunteers are approved for a limited duration and must reapply thereafter.

For questions about volunteering, contact your child’s school.
