Who are volunteers?
Volunteers are usually parents, guardians, or community members authorized to work with students, assist with school tasks, or chaperone field trips. Temporary visitors (e.g., lunch guests or speakers) aren’t considered volunteers but must follow all safety and security protocols.
Safety Protocols
- Volunteers must abide by the same safety protocols followed by our staff members
- Volunteers are subject to a background check.
- Volunteers are approved for a limited duration and must reapply thereafter.
Application Process and Requirements
Before volunteering for a school function on-site or on a field trip, you must first be cleared to volunteer. For your volunteer experience to be successful, begin your application process at least two weeks before the date you intend to volunteer, and follow the steps below:
Step 1: Follow this link to complete the Raptor Volunteer Application.
- Contact the Office Manager of the school you’d like to volunteer for to complete in person.
Step 2: Read through the Volunteer Handbook and the Reporting Abuse Brochure.
Step 3: Complete the mandatory training using the SafeSchools Training Link
For questions about volunteering, contact your child’s school.
