EBBC - Resuscitation Decisions
The district shall provide emergency health care which is reasonably necessary for the health of a student entrusted to the care of the district.
In a life-threatening situation involving a student under district supervision, staff will dial 911 to request emergency medical services. Qualified staff will administer first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to any student requiring it in order to sustain life until relieved by paramedics or other appropriate medical personnel.
All staff are expected to assist emergency medical service personnel, as necessary, upon their arrival.
Medical personnel shall be notified concerning any “do not resuscitate” (DNR) order on file with the district.
Staff shall report the medical incident to their supervisor as soon as practical after the emergency.
