GDC - Recruitment and Selection of Classified Staff
It is the responsibility of the chief administrative officer in each department or location to recruit and select classified employees. Final authorization to employ classified employees lies with the superintendent.
Administrators will notify the personnel office of classified vacancies. The director of personnel will process notices of such vacancies to be posted in each building so that employees currently employed by the district may bid for positions that become available in accordance with the district’s negotiated agreement. After seven (7) working days (five (5) working days in an emergency) the administrator may recommend an appropriate candidate to fill the vacant position.
Upon authorization by the director of personnel and the superintendent, employment shall commence.
