Here's what their teachers had to say:
Kason is a remarkable 5th-grader at Melrose. He is an outstanding leader and positive role model at the school. Kason exemplifies what it means to inspire others through his actions. Whether he’s helping a classmate with a tough math problem, leading a group project with enthusiasm, or simply offering a kind word, Kason shows us the power of positivity and teamwork. His teachers describe him as someone who steps up when others need guidance, always with a smile and a can-do attitude. Kason doesn’t just follow the rules — he sets an example for his peers, showing them how to be respectful, responsible and caring. His leadership shines in the classroom, on the playground, and in every corner of the school. Kason’s dedication and spirit make the Melrose community stronger, and he is so deserving of being recognized as the School Board Student of the Month.
Tyson’s work ethic is truly unmatched. Whether in the classroom or on the marching field, he consistently gives his best with a smile. His commitment to excellence shines through as he develops into a standout musician, effortlessly balancing hard work with a great sense of humor that keeps rehearsals both engaging and productive. A forward-thinker and goal-setter, Tyson takes initiative, even completing schoolwork while on vacation! His curiosity and kindness make him a pleasure to teach, and his positive energy inspires those around him. Always eager to share his knowledge, Tyson helps others grow along their learning journeys.
It is with great enthusiasm that Joseph Lane nominates Connor for recognition at this school board meeting. Connor exemplifies the qualities of kindness, responsibility and leadership, consistently demonstrating integrity and a willingness to go above and beyond to support his peers and school community. Whether it’s helping classmates, responding to teachers with respect, or dependably setting a positive example, his actions reflect the values the school hopes to instill in all its students. Connor’s kindness and strong sense of responsibility make him a standout choice for this recognition. The school is proud to nominate Connor and believes he represents the very best of the Jo Lane community.
