GCBAA - Withholding a Teacher's Salary Increment
Any teacher who by the principal’s or supervisor’s evaluation is performing below a satisfactory level will be subject to notification of this fact and may not be entitled to salary increment advancement according to the following procedures:
- Any teacher evaluated as performing below a satisfactory level shall be delivered a copy of the evaluation report no later than January 25. The teacher shall sign a copy of the report to acknowledge receipt thereof;
- The teacher shall be required to correct deficiencies specified in the evaluation report no later than March 1. If, in the judgment of the principal or the evaluating supervisor, the teacher adequately corrects the deficiencies specified in the evaluation report, then the principal or supervisor shall recommend a salary increment advancement;
- Any teacher affected by this policy shall be notified in writing of their employment status for the following contract year by March 15;
- The decision as to the withholding of a salary increment advancement of a probationary teacher may be the subject of a grievance but it shall be nonarbitrable.
