Congratulations to Terri Wetzel, Skills Trainer at Fir Grove Elementary School and Jenny Carpenter, Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) also at Fir Grove Elementary School. These employees were presented with Crystal Apple Awards at the April 9 School Board meeting.

When the opportunity arose to hire a Skills Trainer, Terri quickly rose to the top of the list as a "must-have" for this position. With a wide range of experience in various roles within our district, Terri has honed the skills that make her so effective in this role. She is creative, crafty, motivating, and consistent, striking the perfect balance between holding high expectations and adding just the right touch of salty silliness. Terri works closely with staff to support both student behaviors and academics, while always celebrating student success. Fir Grove is so grateful for her dedication and her exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with both kids and adults.

Jenny has worn many hats at Fir Grove, from being an Instructional Assistant, a 2nd- and 5th-grade teacher, and her current role as the school’s esteemed Teacher On Special Assignment (TOSA). In each position, she has excelled, but it is in her TOSA role where her creativity and flexibility truly shine. Jenny has an incredible ability to build strong connections with students, motivating even the most reluctant learners to tackle challenges they once thought impossible. She works closely with staff, celebrating successes and supporting areas of growth. Her dedication to making Fir Grove a place where kids want to be is truly appreciated. Fir Grove is so grateful for her continued commitment to the school and community!
