Congratulations to Sunnyslope Elementary School’s Michelle Meyer, a kindergarten teacher, and Amanda “Mandie” Woodson, an instructional assistant III! These employees were presented with Crystal Apple Awards at the October 8 School Board meeting.

Sunnyslope Elementary proudly recognizes Mrs. Michelle Meyer with the Crystal Apple Award. Bringing valuable experience from private school, she first served as an instructional assistant before working hard to become licensed. Michelle has been a Rockstar teacher ever since. Last year, as a brand-new kindergarten teacher, she stepped in with courage and immediately shined. She has never let challenges stop her from serving students with joy, resilience, and heart. Mrs. Meyer is admired for her dedication, positivity, and commitment to Sunnyslope’s students, making her truly deserving in this recognition.

Mandie Woodson is a SHINE’ing star at Sunnyslope Elementary who brings 100% every single day. She greets kids with smiles, hugs, and the kind of aloha spirit you’d expect if our hallways opened to the beaches of Hawaii. Mandie has a specialty skill set that helps her reach students who need the most intensive support, always with patience and compassion. She’s quick to lend a hand, sometimes dropping everything to help a child in need. Surfboard not included! Mandie’s kindness, humor, and willingness to go the extra mile make her truly irreplaceable in our school family.
