Meet our May Crystal Apple Award winners

Congratulations to Jessica Nunley, Lead Cook at Roseburg High School; Richard “Ricky” Oliver, PE Teacher at Winchester Elementary School; and Nicole Wofford, Food Service Assistant, also at Winchester. These employees were presented with Crystal Apple Awards at the May 6 School Board meeting.

This honor is given in recognition of Jessica’s outstanding dedication to serving students each day with nutritious meals, kindness, and care. Jessica’s resilience and hard work are evident in all she does, and she consistently goes above and beyond for every student and staff member. She is a remarkable leader who leads with her heart, inspiring those around her through her positivity and willingness to try new approaches. Her commitment, compassion, and strong work ethic make a lasting difference in her school community each day. Roseburg Schools is fortunate to have her.
A quiet leader, Ricky creates a physical education environment rooted in care, fun, and consistent routines. His professionalism is evident in his clear expectations, strong organization, and calm, respectful approach to student management. He builds positive relationships while maintaining structure and accountability. Ricky willingly supports students and staff, always prioritizing what’s best for the school. A “gentle giant,” he inspires students daily. His creativity, humor, and kindness make him an exceptional fit for P.E.
Nicole’s kindness, humility, and genuine care for students shine through in all she does. She treats every student with dignity, greeting them with a warm smile and making each one feel seen and valued. Her positive, professional, and sunny disposition make her a treasured asset to Winchester, and the school is truly grateful for the impact she has on the community.
