Meet our Oct. 14 Crystal Apple Award Winners

Congratulations to Amy Larman, Kindergarten Teacher, and Lisa Jarrett, Office Manager, at Fir Grove Elementary. These employees were presented with Crystal Apple Awards at the Oct. 14 School Board meeting.
Here’s what their leaders had to say:
Amy has served Fir Grove as both a third-grade and kindergarten teacher, bringing a sense of calm, consistency, and care to every classroom she leads. Amy sets clear expectations and routines that allow her students to thrive. Amy is also a true team player. She is willing to try new things, support those around her, and quietly lead by example. Former students still seek her out for a hug or a few words of encouragement. Older students know they can find a quiet spot in the back of her classroom when they need a moment to regroup. Amy is an advocate for her students and her colleagues, a strong teacher who consistently helps her students make impressive academic growth, and a trusted teammate. She makes Fir Grove better through the steady, thoughtful way she shows up for kids and adults every day.
Lisa has served our district in a variety of roles, each one highlighting her incredible ability to care for others. She brought calm and consistency to students in a self-contained special education classroom, cheered on young readers as our librarian, and for the past six years has been the heart of the Fir Grove office, serving as Office Manager. Lisa is a strong advocate for students, staff, and families. She is organized, creative, dependable, and, above all, a giver. She is always ready to listen, offer a hug, find a Band-Aid, share a piece of chocolate, or make you laugh when you need it most. She takes care of countless details behind the scenes, solves problems with creativity and humor, and helps create a welcoming place for everyone who walks through the doors.
